About Youth in Federal Discourse (YFD):
Youth in Federal Discourse (YFD) is a youth-led, non-governmental organization established in 2019 with a focus on engaging youth in the understanding of federalism and related components of governance. YFD firmly believes that youth are catalysts for change, continuously striving to unlock their potential in addressing policy challenges and bridging gaps in government actions.
Position Overview:
YFD is hiring 10 Electoral Advocates for a project aimed at promoting inclusive voter education, electoral reforms, and community engagement. Electoral Advocates will be responsible for leading inclusive voter education campaigns in their community.
10 advocates will be selected in following location:
2 Individuals from Persons with Disability Community who are residing in Rupandehi District
2 Individuals from Dalit Community who are residing in Bethanchowk Rural Municipality, Kavre
2 Individuals from Muslim Community who are residing in Madhesh Province
2 Individuals from LGBTIQA+ Community who are residing in Kathmandu
2 Individuals from Migrant Population who are residing in Kathmandu
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect data and develop materials for inclusive civic education and voter awareness.
- Lead and organize community-specific inclusive voter education and awareness campaigns.
- Facilitate data collection for thematic reports and ensure active community participation.
- Assist in preparing and distributing inclusive voter education materials.
- Regularly engage with and report progress, including data collection and campaigns to YFD.
- Ensure active participation and sustained civic engagement within their communities.
Required Qualifications:
- Should belong to above mentioned marginalized community residing in respective location
- Minimum of +2 level education in any field.
- Active involvement in community-based forums and initiatives.
- Ability to engage and influence community participation.
- Prior experience in civic education or community outreach is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong community engagement and mobilization skills.
- Knowledge of inclusive civic education and voter engagement practices.
- Ability to facilitate campaigns and connect effectively with communities.
Work Conditions:
1 month project-based, with residential training (including travel, meals, and accommodation).
